Matcha Ginger Cream

I have been wanting to try Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur for some time, so I was really excited when they sent me a bottle recently to experiment with. I love ginger in general, and the more intense, the better!

Barrow’s Intense has a pure, fresh, spicy ginger flavor and is delicious on its own, and makes for a great after dinner drink – or drizzled over ice cream for dessert and digestif in one. ? After enjoying some over vanilla ice cream the other night, I was inspired to create a dessert drink with a matcha + pear twist. ?


1.5 oz gin
.5 oz Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur
.5 oz meyer lemon juice
1/4 of a bosc pear, chopped
1” piece of fresh, peeled ginger, grated
3/4 tsp matcha
Vanilla ice cream

Muddle pear and ginger with lemon juice in a shaker. Add gin, Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur, matcha, and a scoop of ice cream. Shake until chilled. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice or a single large ice cube. Garnish with fresh ginger and pear.
