Negroni Iced Tea

Because I’m still convinced that winter will eventually go away at some point, I’ve been enjoying lots of iced teas and lemonade lately. After my wormwood rye iced tea earlier this week, I was inspired to make a Negroni iced tea. This is so light and refreshing, you could really enjoy it anytime of day. I’m dubbing this a breakfast Negroni 😉

Blackcurrant Lemonade

Like a lot of my cocktails, this one came to me in a dream. I do my best work when I’m sleeping. Which isn’t that often since I have a baby. I had a dream the other night involving a beautiful, boozy, deep purple lemonade, so naturally I had to bring that vision to life. I love whiskey + lemonade anyway, but I have a feeling this variation with blackcurrant and thyme will be in my regular cocktail rotation this summer.

Flight to East Asia

I love creating new recipes but sometimes you want a classic (or a little variation there of). The Aviation is a delicious and beautiful classic cocktail, and I love trying new variations on the theme of: gin, maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, and violet liqueur. Today I’ve subbed yuzu juice for lemon and since I’ve been loving the combo of yuzu + blackberries, I’m replacing the traditional cherry garnish with a tiny lemon boat of blackberries.

An Apple A Day - an Apple, Ginger, Cucumber and Rye Cocktail

I tend to make a lot of gin-based cocktails because gin + botanicals are a natural fit, but I’ve been working on expanding my booze horizons a bit lately. I’m loving Whistle Pig rye and Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur, so I’ve paired them in this delicious, fresh, dare I say ‘healthy’ cocktail. I’ve made this several times over the past few days, and the fresh flavor of the juice makes it well worth the extra effort!

Kiwi Passionfruit Margarita

Happy National Margarita Day! 🎉 I’m celebrating with a sweet and tangy passionfruit + kiwi margarita, complete with festive garnish. I had a lot of fun with this one when I realized that a passionfruit fit perfectly in the depression of my margarita glass. I created a tiered garnish with passionfruit and lime halves and topped it with a slice of kiwi and a sprig of mint. What are you drinking today?

Matcha Ginger Cream

I have been wanting to try Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur for some time, so I was really excited when they sent me a bottle recently to experiment with. I love ginger in general, and the more intense, the better!

The Star

I’ve teamed up with @bossladytarot to create a series of cocktails inspired by tarot cards. Today’s cocktail is The Star ⭐️. This card represents the astrological sun sign Aquarius (shout out to my fellow water bearers) and it represents hope, faith, and inspiration. ✨ I’ll drink to that!

Kuma-groni - A Turmeric Negroni

I’ve been having a lot of fun this week playing with Kuma Turmeric Liqueur in cocktails. Today I decided to try a twist on a classic with a turmeric-y Negroni, subbing Kuma for Campari. The result is something special and very different, with an earthy, mellow sweetness replacing the characteristic bitter bite of Campari.

Kuma-quat - A Turmeric + Tamarind Cocktail

When I first tried a sip of Kuma Turmeric Liqueur, I was immediately impressed. Unlike many liqueurs, it can easily be enjoyed straight. In addition to the pure, earthy, not-too-sweet taste, one of the things I love about Kuma is that they only use raw, organic ingredients. If you enjoy turmeric in cooking, a golden milk latte from time to time, or even if you’ve never tried turmeric before, chances are you’ll love this unique liqueur! I’ve teamed up with Kuma to create this tasty, tropical Kuma-quat.

Negroni Nice Cream

If you’ve ever made ‘nice cream’, you know how AMAZING frozen bananas are at impersonating ice cream when blended with a little bit of of liquid. They take on the texture of soft serve, and the banana flavor is very mild, especially if paired with strong flavors and if the bananas used are not too under or over ripe. I took this healthy recipe to the next level by blending it up with a classic Negroni and a little juice for an unexpected and delicious twist on dessert, #ginuary style.
