Pink 75

Amy Traynor
This sparkling rosé cocktail was inspired by the classic champagne cocktail, the French 75. Perfect for summer, the Pink 75 is made with vodka, guava syrup, strawberries and lime juice.

Substitutions
During this pandemic, I feel it’s more important than ever to provide some alternatives to specialty cocktail ingredients. While these recipe variations won’t be exactly the same as the original recipe, they are all delicious in their own way!
  • If you’re not able to buy guava syrup, or don’t want to wait to have it shipped, you can make your own at home from store-bought guava nectar (a sweetened guava juice blend). Use the same amount of syrup as called for above (.75 oz).
  • If you don’t want to make a syrup, you can also try replacing the syrup in the recipe above with 1-1 1/2 ounces of guava nectar. Depending on the flavor and sweetness of your guava nectar, you may need to adjust the amount used.
  • If you can’t find guava nectar, you can skip the guava flavor altogether and make a basic simple syrup instead. Use the same amount of syrup as called for above (.75 oz).
Guava Syrup (from Guava Nectar)
Start with equal parts guava nectar, sugar, and water. Combine all ingredients, stir until all of the sugar has dissolved, then taste for potency. Depending on the brand of guava nectar you buy, the flavor or sweetness levels may vary, so adjust the recipe to your taste. Here is a good recipe to start with:
  • ½ - 1 cup guava nectar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
Combine the sugar and water in a jar and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the guava nectar and stir to combine. Store any leftovers in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Simple Syrup
Simple syrup is very simply equal parts water and sugar! Stir until the sugar has dissolved and enjoy.
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
Combine ingredients in a jar and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Store leftover syrup in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
