Scofflaw Classic Rye Cocktail

The Scofflaw is a Prohibition-era cocktail combining rye whiskey, dry vermouth, lemon juice, grenadine, and orange bitters. This dry, slightly fruity cocktail was invented at the famous Harry’s New York Bar in Paris in 1924.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz rye whiskey
  • 1 oz dry vermouth
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • ¾ oz grenadine
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and fill it ¾ with ice.
  • Shake until chilled, then strain into a cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with an orange twist.
