Brandy Alexander Recipe

This classic, creamy dessert cocktail is made with a shaken mix of brandy (or cognac), creme de cacao and cream. Don't skip the garnish of freshly grated nutmeg!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ oz brandy or cognac
  • 1 oz creme de cacao
  • 1 oz cream or half and half

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill the shaker ¾ with ice.
  • Shake until chilled, then strain into a cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of freshly grated nutmeg.

Notes

The traditional Brandy Alexander is made with equal parts (1 oz each brandy, creme de cacao, and cream). Using slightly more brandy is a modern take on the recipe that makes it more balanced and a little less sweet.
