Pro tips for a perfect Cosmopolitan every time:
- Use a quality citrus-flavored vodka. An high quality unflavored vodka will do in a pinch.
- Cointreau is the best choice for a triple sec.
- Use a sweetened cranberry juice cocktail, rather than pure cranberry juice.
- Always use fresh lime juice.
- Chill your glass in advance.
- Add your ingredients to you shaker first, then the ice.
- Double strain the cocktail through a fine mesh strainer for the best texture.
- Garnish with fresh citrus (see post for full details and options for both orange and lime).
