Whiskey Ginger Smash

This zesty variation on the classic Whiskey Smash is made with four simple ingredients. It's incredibly cooling and refreshing, making it the perfect whiskey cocktail for a hot summer day.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • ½ lemon, cut into wedges
  • ¾ oz ginger simple syrup
  • 10 mint leaves, plus more for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Add the lemon wedges and syrup to a cocktail shaker and muddle thoroughly, pressing hard to release both the juices and the oils from the lemon.
  • Add the mint and bourbon and fill the shaker three quarters with ice.
  • Shake until chilled, then fine strain into a lowball glass filled with ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
